Being a performing artist, former (current?) child, and also just being a human in general, I'm interested in costumes and outfits and disguises and what we wear and how we look and how it messes with us and the people who see us. Because of this, and because my main life activity involves frequent dressing up in costumes, there are a lot of pictures of me being characters who are absolutely not me.
"en travestie" means "in drag" in French. Specifically it refers to women dressing as men to portray male roles on the operatic stage. I do this a lot.
This particular picture, while owing itself to an Italian opera written by a German, is vaguely French-esque in the presence of the beret, poodle, and facial expression.
