Kelly:
i think this is one of the greatest tasks ever.
what i've done is i've made about a hundred different "fortunes". ranging from proverbial advice, to warnings, to direct comments to the reader, etc. and have been placing them in a variety of public and "openable" places. but by far my favorite, and where i've placed the most: i've been putting them in books in the Berkeley main library. These books could be checked out next week, or in 50 years. for some reason that makes me happy. the idea of someone checking out a book many years from now, and finding one of my random fortunes in it...it tickles me.
Ian:
[update] Sam, Sara and I made fortunes. Sara is going to put them in slot machines in Las Vegas, Sam and I will put them in openables around SF. Here are our favorites:
I don't blame you
You are so abject, and everyone LOVES it.
Your father in nearby
Now kiss and make it real
Make it hot
Everywhere you go I go.
We ride at dawn!
I uploaded the .txt file if you want to read the rest.
[/update]
I absolutely love what Kelly did with this task. I am printing out the fortunes she made to put in openable places (a great term) around San Francisco, and will make some of my own for her to distribute. But let it be known that she singlehandedly did everything up to this point and I'm just along for the (being in Humanitarian Crisis) ride. My photos will be up soon.

"We ride at dawn!" just makes me happy every time I think about it. Which is often.
