Produce Fear In Another Person. by David Zoltan
December 3rd, 2007 7:55 PMI borrowed an army from one of the guys at the tournament and found myself paired up against him in my first round. He had explained how to run the army, and I did so flawlessly. He came in for the kill against me, and failed to hit, but using the funny tournament rules, he was able to bid cans to reroll his dice. He bid 63 cans in total (against my 3 to make him reroll again a couple of times) to finally hit me, but failed to kill me in that hit. That left him totally exposed. I could see the fear in his eyes knowing only too well what was coming from the very list he created. You could smell it in the air. The sweet sweet aroma of fear of the prey on the wind. I struck and finished him.
It felt good, and I must have let my guard down. I didn't win again all day. The Wiccans must have something with that threefold law of theirs, because I lost the next three rounds in glorious succession. I got back what I gave three times over. But in the end, my fear can never compare to that of going hungry. I think my karma was well balanced out that day.
In the end, we as a group donated over 1000 cans to the hungry. What an awesome way to fight fear with fear.

The winner's trophy! It's a composite of all sorts of different models.

SMASHY SMASHY!! This was just too cool not to document even if it wasn't me involved. Wouldn't you be scared if these giants were hurtling themselves at each other with you in the middle?
Frankenstein Tournament- My only win.JPG

SUCCESS! My opponent tried to kill me and failed miserably. He donated 63 cans in the process just to try to squeak out a win. Then he had to quake in his boots as I made chop suey out of him. Ok, maybe that's a little melodramatic, but imagine how you'd feel if death was certain for your little metal men.
Frankenstein Tournament- My Army.JPG

There's the army I borrowed to play. From my first opponent no less. The only person I beat all day.
Frankenstein Tournament- Loss #1.JPG

Thus begins the point where I get to experience fear for myself.
Frankenstein Tournament- Loss #3.JPG

Not only did I lose, I lost in record time. My opponent in the last round beat me so fast I didn't know what hit me. At least I didn't have time to be afraid.
Frankenstein Tournament- Stokes Army.JPG

The sharpest looking army at the tournament. My friend Mike does some amazing painting, lemme tell ya. Who wouldn't be afraid staring at that across the table?
