Make A Task: The Task by SF0 Police

July 5th, 2006 3:30 PM

INSTRUCTIONS: Make a task for the game San Francisco Zero. To add a task:

1) Go to your character page. You know, your home base (click your photo in the upper right once you're logged in).

2) Look in the second row of navigation up at the top. Click "add task".

3) You'll be taken to a form where you can name and describe your task, give it a location in SF (if it's location-based), assign it to one of the five groups (or "general"), and suggest a required score and the number of points the task awards.

4) You can add more than one task - they'll all be listed on your home page - but you can only get these 30 points once.

Once you add your task, you can complete this task. We'll make this automatic one of these days...

We added Treehouse.

Build a tree house big enough and sturdy enough for you to sleep in. Take into account the type of tree that it is, and the type of animals that live in the tree, and think of ways to build the treehouse without disrupting their habitation.

Doesn't this task fall too closely similar to this one? Maybe you should go back to policing players instead of creating tasks! Us civilians must not fall prey into the traps of the po-po.

Um... why are the police creating tasks, anyway?

Sirs, we appreciate your input, but we gently encourage you to look at the objectives of these tasks. Sleep in a tree, which was referenced in the created task, requires its executor to do just that. Sleep in a tree. Treehouse does not require you to sleep in a tree. It requires you to build a treehouse. The "big enough to sleep in" was merely to keep players from building birdhouses for a task intended to net the ambitious executor 200 some points. A relative size requirement if you will, gentlemen.

We're willing to discuss this further, but if you would re-read both tasks, we're fairly certain you will find these things to be two different things.

We will admit that we created this task merely to move to the next level so that we would have votes with which to reward tasks, though there may have been some ulterior motive- we may have been acting on some desire to create some high level tasks for characters to aspire to and scheme on.
