The Speed of Time by Teeth Beetles February 18th, 2009 11:15 AM

Insects and other ectotherms live their life cycles based on the ambient temperature. As such, they don't measure age in the same chronological way that endothermic animals (like humans) do. Their life cycle is measured in degree days, how much ambie...

I live in San Francisco, and until I signed up for this task, I was completely unaware of what the highest point in the entire city of San Francisco was. Much to my surprise, it is Mount Davidson, the big mountain I live at the foot of, at 925 feet....

Prologue: I had originally planned to get a bunch of other tasks done, but unsuccessfully hunting for a single plant in Strybing Arboretum yielded no results. Searching for a small weedy shrub in 20 acres, with no idea where to look, I should have kn...

Trespassing the Future by Teeth Beetles December 28th, 2008 6:16 PM

I hadn't even signed up for this task, but I saw the construction site when I was busy working on two other tasks. I realized there was an opportunity here. This is apparently the construction site for the future J-Pop Center. I have no idea what th...

Ethereal Cartography by Teeth Beetles December 28th, 2008 12:50 PM

I decided to map human emotions, more or less. The eastern hemisphere are less active emotions, an the western hemisphere is more exciting or arousing emotions. The northern pole concerns more positive, and the southern more negative. Map is not nec...
