The Arcane Ensconced by J

January 29th, 2009 3:54 PM

INSTRUCTIONS: Install a secret message.

I decided to write down one of my biggest secrets using ancient runic letters.

I folded the slip of paper, and put it in an envelope that said "I have a secret."

Today I went to the intermediate school in my district for a meeting for ecology club, and I stuck it in someones locker.

Would've been a five if:

You had had more description with your praxis.

You had written your runes correctly! Runic words aren't connected by spaces - if anything, a dot is used to separate words, but never spaces (at least not in the ancient runic writings).

also, the bottom part says "I am so sorry", right? XP I wanted to make sure my very slim knowledge of runes was right there, even though you can sorta see it (all the runes are very similar to their english counterparts.)

you're not picky

I didn't really know what else to say. D:

Aw, I didn't know that. None of the sites/books I used mentioned that. I'll definitely keep that in mind next time I use the runes, thanks.

Yup, it does. xD

when i was a budding pagan in high school *cough* years ago, i taught myself runic script well enough that i could read it nearly as fast as roman letters (and apparently if there is punctuation added, i still can). back then, i used it to write down all of my fears and crushes and secrets and 'dear diary' processing, thereby being able to write anywhere and keep parents and cruel schoolmates alike from having any words to hold over my head. while it seems embarrassingly silly to look back on now and it was assuredly easy for people to have deciphered with more than a cursory glance, it was immensely helpful to me at the time.

different secrets, but this brings me back hardcore.

votes for that personal nostalgia, and votes for the bravery of sharing serious secrets easily deciphered. and i don't see anything to be sorry for at all.

Try not to be sorry.
Being sorry for yourself isn't helpful to anybody. It's not helpful to you or to others. If there's something you want changed in your life, either change it or don't change it, know that you made a choice and stick with that choice. Or don't stick with it. But make a choice. We control our fate and if there's something about your life that you're not happy about, you have the power to change it.

I'm sorry this has turned into a lecture but a really good friend of mine just killed himself a week ago and nobody knows why and I'm mad at him for choosing such an unimaginative way out.

I guess what I want to say is that if there's something you're upset about, talking is pretty good therapy, and I would love to talk to you. I don't know you at all but this place here that you've found is magical, full of people that love to help others and I am offering that help to you if you'd like it. I have advice to give and most people I know enjoy getting advice from me, I'm also really good at just listening.
