I've been keeping this task saved in my back pocket for a while, because the coffee house where I work has some pretty cool bathrooms, if I do say so myself.

This is Smedly's Coffee House in Fells Point, Baltimore.
We're big on art -- we display lots of artwork from local artists all over the walls. (If any players in the Baltimore have art they would like to exhibit -- send me a message!)
Of course, the food's great too. We've got a chef trained at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, and great Illy coffee from Italy. Oh, and then there's That Chocolate Drink, and...
*ahem*, anyway... check out our website if you want to find out more.

Now on to the restrooms!
The bathrooms were designed and built by myself and Smedly Barbaskeet.

One whole wall of the coffee house is a giant blackboard, where anyone can come and make their mark.

It seems that some lunatic has gotten into the chalk supply and drawn a sort of big radio tower or something...

But, more to the point... opposite the blackboard is the main bathroom.
In the back, you can see the original brick wall of the building, which dates back to the early 1800s.

Here's a close-up shot of the sink. It sort of just floats there on the wall, which is neat.

On the wall behind me are some gesture drawings I did a while ago. Yep. We even decorate the restrooms with art.

The view back out into the hall.

Zoning rules mandate that an establishment our size must have two bathrooms. So when you've gotta' go, and the big front bathroom is occupied -- there's this little one. Again, more art. One of my old Drawing I exercises, I think.

I like the chalk board, and the art, and the potty... but I have to say...
Begin geeky coffee snobbery:
Illy is gross. Join the third wave of coffee.
I could introduce you to some great independent roasters in your part of the world. If you're ever in New York visit Grumpy or Gimme.
End snobbery.
