near my house, they're tearing down a whole block full of buildings.

this is notable not only for the destruction, but for the fact that what used to be in those buildings was none other than the coolest block of stores in town. all locally owned, all interesting: coffee shop, hip used clothing store, homemade italian ice, liberal bumper stickers, etc etc etc. but now, rubble.

note the fence.
so, the next night we went in for the adventure, me and my partner in crime.

and then up to the second floor....

and then the roof....

back to the second floor, and in.

go deeper, and the former apartments turn into a janitorial service office.

we found a fire extinguisher.

the end.

That looks like a really cool place to explore!
Gutsy homage to the coolest block that is not there anymore. And the why not? picture got me teary eyed. Beautiful.
