Reverse Madlibs by qwerty uiop, Sean Mahan

February 20th, 2006 5:17 PM

INSTRUCTIONS: Play a game of reverse madlibs. Use the results to fill out your character's profile, if you wish. To play: either use the reverse madlibs generator below (from adlib.sfzero.org) or:
1. find a partner.
2. player 1 writes down a secret list of words or phrases.
3. player 1 gives player 2 the type of speech for each word/phrase (like "noun" or "verb + adverb")
4. player 2 writes down sentences, leaving blanks for the mystery words.

This was done a long time ago, along with (if I recall correctly) SF0'ers Sam and Ian, as well as a pair of Annas. Which words were filled in is left as an exercise for the reader. More importantly, I believe this was the birth of the revolutionary language game of Reverse Madlibs - writing lyrics for a not band.

I remember seeing disenfranchised steel beside the road
When our ferris wheel dealt far too quickly
i no longer hope for keys or girls under my salmon mailbox
but the fancy eyeball still has lingered
this dearth of options is a horror of horrible whor of whors
with just a glance above he could void your warranty

your feelings on late capitalism have changed
you loved the permanent crease, didn't you?
you used to love slowly before the accident
can't you forget that the pair reeks of us for just one second?
