It's Good To Sit On The Floor Here by KC
March 6th, 2008 10:02 PMToday I did not sit in a chair. Even now, I am kneeling at my computer desk. There were three notable exceptions to this: driving my car, going to the bathroom, and French class (where my teacher told me she was "uncomfortable" with the idea- I think I have a hard time describing sf0.) Other than these three situations, I sat on the floor all day.

I began with a breakfast of Cap'n Crunch and comics on the floor.

Zero period, beginning at 7:10 AM, is Pre-Calc. I took a quiz sitting on the floor. My teacher allowed this, but said she "felt sorry for me" and worried that I'd "get gas" by the end of the day.

First period is English. Mr. Doppe is a super cool guy, so he already knows about sf0. He readily allowed me to sit on the floor. This is what English class looks like from the ground. We had a timed writing today and I spent all 40 minutes of it on the ground, with me feet falling asleep. I think I wrote a terrible essay, but not because of that.
Third was French. I have no documentation of this because, as I stated earlier, my teacher was uncomfortable with the project.
Sitting in a desk again was jarring.

Fifth period is bowling! When I wasn't standing, I sat on the floor. I got a little tired and my bottom was starting to hurt. I even got Tea to join me a little bit! We made funny faces together for the camers. This is us doing the "girl face" that can be found in 70% of teenage girls' myspaces.

Most of the pictures from this period (the best pictures of the day) are thanks to her.
When I got home I played Phantom Hourglass and then took a nap. Later I sat on the floor for dinner, and watch Doctor Who. Then I wrote this.
I enjoyed this task because it allowed me to, as Ze Frank puts it, bust my cycle. Ze Frank is an idol of mine, and I like this idea of arbitrarily breaking a religiously held routine. The most interesting part of this task was the abrupt difference between sitting and standing. I went from my highest to my lowest height, with no middle ground. It is always interesting to fluctuate between the extremes of something, and height contributes significantly to one's worldview.
It was good to sit on the floor today.

i wonder what Dear Abby would have to say about this.
your documentation of your day was good.
GAS?! I don't ..know about that..gas from sitting on the floor.
I liked your note about the abrupt difference between highest point and lowest point.
Gee, I thought archery was a weird PE substitute. Bowling wins.
bowling... in high school?
wow.
Really cool completion, by the way! I like all the details and pictures and what not, good job!
Bowling is one of my favorite classes. Twice a week you drive yourself to the local bowling alley and bowl 3 games. On Wednesday's periods are too short to bowl, so we sit around a classroom and talk.
You don't have to dress out, run, or anything! It's the perfect lazy man's PE.
*jealousy*
I'm a billion times better at bowling than any other sport, which may still be bad, but I can but up a fight.
Curse our boring PE curriculum.
"...sit around a classroom and talk" - all bowling strategy and tactics, I hope.
Every other week or so he spends about 10 minutes "teaching" us something (like if your ball is curving right, move to the right) and then says "That's it for the day!"
I like the idea of breaking up a normal routine.
Great completion.
I wish I had bowling for a class when I was in high school.
