Today is Friday, and instead of going to work or school, I went on a road trip with my husband.




We left around 9 am, which meant I got to sleep in a little bit longer than usual! When we do road trips, we usually pick up something fun for breakfast. Today was no different.





Five minutes after getting the donuts, almost half were gone. (An hour later, after we stopped for a restroom break, I discovered that my husband had eaten two more. Sneaky boy.)






The trip up took just over three hours. The whole morning was gray and cloudy, but it was nice to see some beautiful fall foliage along the long road.





Finally, Pennsylvania welcomed us. Almost there!




But soon, we hit a snag!





Apparently when the officer ran our tags, he mistook a O for a D, which made him think our registration was a year out of date. After a brief moment of panic on our part, he rechecked the registration and the license plate, got it right, and sent us on our way. It was all we could talk about for ten minutes.





We stopped talking about the cop after ten minutes because that is how long it took to get to our lunch destination: Rachel's Roadhouse. The best homemade chips and dip in existence. Yum!


After lunch we went into town and drove past a church my sister used to go to, which usually has pretty good signs. My husband made me take pictures.



After finding a place to park, we took care of an errand in town and decided to walk around looking at houses for sale. There's a good chance we'll be moving to this town in the near future, so we wanted to look at possible homes. During this two hour, several mile walk, we saw plenty of interesting things, including logs stuck on power lines...



...creepy street signs...




...a long, very cool bridge...





...and an abandoned, cigar-smoking stuffed animal that I believe was a huckster pig, clearly down on his luck.





When we returned to the car, I convinced the husband to take us to Here's Howe, a local candy store that seriously has the best candy ever.




We bought four bags of the stuff.





Our day was complete, so we headed back home, hitting Ohio and a beautiful sunset around dinner time.





Eleven hours after starting out, we were home, safe and sound.
