Tasks / BART Gambling

This task is retired.

While we end up focusing many of our organization's efforts on San Francisco, we still believe that you should wander all around the bay area (someone, make a joke about "Cautionary Example"). We in the BARTpa love lots of things, but chief among them are two things: BART (natch') and, you guessed it, gambling. After many a pensive moment, here's the glorious combination of the two:

This works best with two players, but if you've got a larger crew, you should consider splitting into pairs.
Player 1 buys a BART ticket, and keeps the value secret.
Player 2 uses the ticket to enter a station along with Player 1, who conceals the value of the ticket as Player 2 passes through the turnstile.
Players 1 & 2 ride, man, ride.

I think what would be a bit funner is some sort of Russian Bart Ticket.

1) Get X number of players together (for the moment we'll use 4) plus one dealer (or one of the players can be the dealer).
2) Pick two stations in a row where the fair is greater then $1.40 (Embarcadero, West Oakland).
3) Have a dealer buy 3 tickets for $1.40 each, and 6 tickets for $2.55. ($2.55 is the fair from Embarcadero to West Oakland, $1.40 is not).
4) Have the dealer use a Sharpie or marker to cover up the credits on the tickets, shuffle 3 $2.55 tickets with one $1.40 ticket, pass them out to the 4 players.
5) 4 players get on at Embarcadero and head to the East Bay.
6) All 4 players try to get out of the system/station at the same time with their Russian tickets. The player with the "bullet" gets stuck in the system.
7) Dealer reshuffles with 2 $2.55 tickets and one $1.40, passes them out to the three left, and the cycle starts over again from West Oakland back to The City.

Don't know what the winner gets, maybe has to pay to let everyone else out of the system? Heh.
