Is this really as old a task as it appears? I guess it must have been retired until recently - I don't remember ever seeing it before.
When I first joined the game, before I had actually completed any tasks, I started out trying to do something very close to this for the Ideal Transit Map. I scanned in the image from one of the BART booklets, matched the font, and started adding connections to other interesting places. (BART to Vladivostock, anyone?) I was planning to print out booklets with radically extended maps in them for kiosk insertion.
I worked on it sporadically for weeks, but never managed to get it to look convincing. Then I jumped into a few other tasks and never came back to it. (And I never will - there are just so many other great tasks waiting to be done.)
I'm happy to see it (or something similar) listed as a task. Seeing someone else do it will be just as rewarding as doing it myself.
