Tasks / Connecting The Dots

This task is retired.

Split into small teams. Have a neutral party decide upon a goal location. The goal location must be universally agreed on as both "somewhere nobody knows how to get to" and "too far away to walk to".

Players must not bring with them, obtain, or create any tools which can be used for navigation (such as SatNavs, maps, direction lists, etc.).

First team to the goal location wins.

Allow me to clarify with some examples:
Looking up the internet for directions during the game is allowed, but printing them out is not.
Asking strangers for directions is allowed, but writing them down on paper is not.

Basically, you can find out how to get where you need to go, but you must remember how to.

I think driving yourself should not be allowed.

I was flying out to New Orleans last year, and decided as a joke to look up how complex it would be to drive instead. As I recall, the instructions were:

Head South on Lincoln
Get on I-10 East
Exit Magazine St. South

The middle step takes, of course, 56 hours of driving from Los Angeles to New Orleans, but it's a pretty simple route to remember if you are driving yourself. If you have to catch rides with other people, or take precisely timed bus routes, or other public transportation that isn't quite precisely the way you want... I can see that being a much more BartPA style game.

I concur!

EDIT: BUT! I assumed that the goal location would be a specific place. The directions you suggested would get you to New Orleans well enough, but they wouldn't get you to, say, The Napolean House!
