A friend of mine was researching Treasure Island (and YB islance) and found out that its bee a lot of things in it's brief exsistence. It was an army base and is now a super-fund site. Various chemical spills have occured there and in order to live there, apparently you have to sign a waver that says that neither you nor your pets will 'displace earth'. I imagine there is a good reason for that and would suggest that people leaving treasure don't dig too much or, perhaps, at all.
