This has been done. And was a big deal. That one gut did it. I cannot remember his name for the life of me. He said that it would be easier to sneak his art in to the museum and hang it himself than have it intentionally displayed... or some such. What was his name? I believe he was at one point arrested for hanging his art in the men's room at one of these museums.

Yes, this has been done. Perhaps you're thinking of Banksy. In any case, done or not, it'd be great to do this. I can think of more than one museum I'd like to subvert.

Of Course…

Of course she is thinking of Bansky. The reason is most likely because the task was inspired by the man himself.

I am soooo ready for this... just have to check if there are cameras installed and circulating guards. Berkeley Art Museum, here I come.

I personally find the zoo series highly humorous.

I couldn't stick the video in here for some reason so here is Banksy's documentation of a few of his reverse art thefts.

He's done all sort of inspiring art. If you aren't already familiar with his works I would urge you to look at his work. Entertaining, humorous, stimulating, and inspiring.

Banksy did some of the striking graffiti in the movie Children Of Men.

The Peabody Essex Museum (which is located in Salem, rather than either Peabody or Essex) is really fun and quite hands-on for an art museum. So I thought it might be a good place to insert a faux art object, since they seem less uptight than some ot...
