Tasks / Uncommissioned Public BART

This task is retired.

Before there was SFZero's BPA, there was Janet Zweig. In 2004 Janet was commissioned by the Metropolitan Council and collaborated with some pretty rich guys, and numerous Minnesota artists to make 39 very cool pieces of interactive public artwork in 11 terminals of the Hiawatha Light Rail line.

Taking your inspiration from Ms. Zweig's Small Kindnesses, Weather Permitting, alter the psychogeographical contours of your transit system by constructing and installing up to thirty nine pieces of art in at least eleven terminals of your local system. Document and number your artwork accordingly.

As cool as her work is, it was an elaborate and expensive installation. You should spend as little money as possible, documenting the total final cost. Though there is not a point deduction for a specific dollar amount, bonus points for spending less than $1 per work in your 39 part series. Extra bonus points if your work stays up for more than a week. Mucho bonus points if you find, make contact with, and incorporate collaborative contributions from any artist who entered the original contest but was rejected for inclusion.
