Objectify A Subject by Thayle

April 13th, 2007 3:28 PM

INSTRUCTIONS: Turn a subject into an object.

Turning a subject into an object is a simple task, but first you must accept where I am coming from. Yes, I do believe in God, and through that belief I will be able to turn myself, a subject, into an object.

Let's say I threw a ball, the ball is the object, and I am the subject, as I am the one acting upon it. But if God does have ultimate control over the universe, and everything that inhabits it, than I am no more than an object, being acted upon by the ultimate subject God. Unless there is something higher than God, God is the only true subject in the known universe, that has the ability to turn any other subject into a mere object.

And that is how I turn a subject into an object.

If "God is the only true subject..that has the ability to turn any other subject into a(n)...object" , then how could you (or anyone else for that matter) turn a subject into an object unless you are God?

It seems to me that you have not turned a subject into an object so much as pointed out how someone else (God) has done so.

NOTE! I am not in any way shape or form attempting to make any comments derogitory or otherwise regarding religion! I am only commenting on the task itself and the author's own logic regarding said task.

So who says I am not God? Or that you are not God? Perhaps we turn ourselves into objects.

Oh and even if God was one solitary being, the task is "Turn a subject into an object" which on it's own can be interpreted many different ways. For instance, the way I put I am turning a subject (myself) into an object, by showing how God makes subjects into objects. Technically, yes, God is the one doing it, but I am the one actually explaining and thus the one actually turning the subject into an object.

We are all god.

I am the god of my universe that revolves around me. As you are your own god. You are the only person that controls your own destiny, as I am the only one who controls my destiny.
