I think my sense of touch depicted here is one not really tangible, yet the one you get when something of importance happens (good or bad)...

n. that sense by which anything material is perceived by means of physical contact

I think what I am trying to say is something so far from what it literally means as if 'someone touched your heart.' We know they really didn't do that, but may have made a tremendous impact.
