Induce Paranoia by Tiny Pet Dragon
August 15th, 2008 1:48 PMminch niddle: ... makes me picture a tiny pocket sized dragon...
not minch niddle: Heehee
minch niddle: i can even imagine how people would respond
"Oh, my, what is that tiny creature you have?"
not minch niddle: Heehee
minch niddle: "Oh that, that is my Pet*" I say as I smile and stroke my tiny dragon's head while he makes dragon purrs and snorts tiny tufts of smoke
Though I am very very young, I am still wise, because I am a dragon, and we are magical in that way. I live with my birth mother in San Francisco. At present I am only a figment, that visits my mother often when she is chatting online:
minch niddle: you realize tiny dragons need sunshine and fresh air to ensure that their eensy wings grow big and strong..... my Pet* is stamping his tiny foot at you right now insisting I am right.
minch niddle: "oh dear. i now have an animated character living inside my head....."
I hope to one day soon become corporeal and live outside her head as well.
Minch
All of this made me think to myself: I hope this does not end in medication and a padded white room.
**edit**
Minch: This would be the paranoia part, as I begin to question my own sanity.
Pet: Oh yes, she has been talking to herself, and me, and interpreting my behavior for others, all day:
minch niddle: sigh... Pet is insisting I tell you the following "hooray"
He is very excited you voted and is now jumping up and down (which ends up with tiny little flutters as he floats back down) and clapping his hands in glee
not minch niddle: You are crazy :)
Lovely
But crazy
minch niddle: hence the task completion
Minch: I question my sanity for good reason apparently.
**edit**
Which is when we both realized I, Tiny Pet Dragon, had succeeded in inducing paranoia in my mother. After which I begged her to allow me to task.
As a Tiny Pet Dragon, I can be quite convincing. It is very hard to continue with one's work when there is a small imaginary creature flying around one's head, landing on one's shoulder, stamping a tiny dragon foot and snorting tiny puffs of irritated smoke directing at one's ear.
Minch
I would like you all to know that Tiny Pet Dragons, though cute, can be rather insistent and stubborn. Oh my! That means I finally have a Stubborn-Son-of-a-Minch**!
**Additional Edit and True Task Completion**
More Success! Instert an evil maniacal laugh here.
So.... I, Minch, am slightly evil, and really bored at work, and concocted all of this to entertain myself.... and to see if I could freak out a friend, who originally helped create Pet yesterday, and who Pet likes to talk to the very most. I have been commenting to said friend throughout the day as both myself and Pet, and keeping said friend up to date on this task as it unfolded (without actually mentioning that said friend was the target of my paranoia).
Pet nods his head and smiles at not minch niddle.
I revel in the glory of imagining said friend frighteningly typing the following.
minch niddle: Pet is making tsk tsk noises that you are still awake
not minch niddle:.. you are scaring me now
minch niddle: and there is now paranoia in another person
not minch niddle:... nice.
minch niddle: i think so
not minch niddle:... so
can you stop now? You're scaring me :(
.... a few moments later....
not minch niddle:... it's actually quite creepy
not minch niddle:... not kidding any more
I could hardly type I was laughing so hard.
.... at which point my friend quickly said goodnight and signed out of chat ....
Now, one could argue that all I really completed was inducing fear and all over creepy feelings in another person; but I feel the line between fear and paranoia is fine, especially when you take into account the fact that my tiny pet dragon's real name is derived from my friend's name, which said friend knows... and I purposly kept Pet's name a task secret to add to the creep factor. Yeek, it sort of gives me the heeby jeebies just thinking about.
Thank you thank you, poor creeped out friend. Hopefully you will forgive me for making you the subject of tasking. I promise to never make you a praxis target again :)
**End Edit**
*Tiny Pet Dragon's name has been changed to protect his inspiration who is noted in this praxis as not minch niddle to protect his/her identity.
**Stubborn-son-of-a-Minch was first coined by Blue. Credit where credit is due...

luckily, Bex, in the world of insanity we can have things like tiny pet dragons :)
jumps up and down* clapping hands and chortling smoke hearts at Bex
*it should be noted that when tiny dragons jump up and down it is really much more of a jump up, wing flutter, and then slow float back down. what with the flying thing and all.
This is intriguing and awesome, but I'm having trouble seeing the part where you complete the task.
Vote and flag, I'm afraid.
i effectively induced paranoia in myself and actually became concerned for my own sanity. I have added an edit note to make this more clear.
i do like the idea of both voting and flagging something.
Technically, I induced paranoia in you. You did not know it was going to happen, it simply did, as a byproduct of my rather fleshed out existence within the confines of your mental structure.
If something is good, it needs a vote - whether or not it completes the task.
Oh I agree with you Dok. And had the task requested an elaborate paranoia, I never would have claimed this as a completion. But since it did not, I decided my mild paranoia counted.
ps. Mother thinks highly of you. She may not say it often, but as I am in her head, I can tell.
flutters around smiling to self as tiny dragons are prone to do
and the true task completion is done :)
Oh thank you!
whirls in circles and coos at Peter
and my sanity slips a little farther down the path towards chaos....
