Ethereal Cartography by Poisøn Lake

INSTRUCTIONS: Make a map of something that does not exist physically.

I'm at sort of a weird, transitional place in life at the moment, so I decided to map my current state of mind. It turned out to be unexpectedly therapeutic, as well as way too large for my scanner. I couldn't get a good single image of it, so it can be viewed in compiled-fragment form here.
It doesn't have a precise key, so at this point, I'll launch into an somewhat elaborate & mostwhat personal explanation:
The three stumps in the lower left corner are the 2 1/2 years I spent in San Francisco walking the labyrinthine city with my love & generally attempting to clear out the unnecessary accumulations of the previous 18 years.
The tree with umbrella toward the top left is my imagination, leafless except for the dangling book. Beargirl & the mysterious squid are some themes from my recent doodling. The dinobox are plush dinosaurs yet to be.
The mountain-pillar thing with the wooden coffee cup atop it is Portland, where I'll be attending art school in about 6 months. The creepy eyeballmonster in the right forefront is fear, anxiety, & everything else that makes me think I might end up trapped in the dark water-filled pond of nowness. Luckily, there's a lovely albino narwhal in their with me, which I've decided to take as a good omen.
Anyway, I'm supposed to be getting a fancy new camera in the mail soon, so I'll put up some better images when it arrives.

update: full sized pictures, yay.

That's great! You're a good artist, too, I'm very jealous.

Hooray!

I am a sucker for the unexpectedly therapeutic praxis.
