Everyday Life by Poisøn Lake
April 8th, 2009 9:07 PMThis completion ended up taking several attempts due to various kinds of difficulty. The first was technical; on Friday after perhaps over-documenting my morning, my camera refused to preform its usual tasks for the rest of the day.
Saturday's difficulty was that it's challenging to ride a bike, hold a conversation, & take pictures at the same time. But I did ride 10 miles & see some goats, so that was bitchin'. Also, I worked on an assignment for my drawing class. Hopefully I'll be able to finish this next weekend.
Wednesday April 8th, 2009
I slept through class, so naturally, it's a perfect taskportunity. Today I: slept untill 11:40, spent a few lovely hours with David, bought a new bra that matches my tattoo (at long last), paid my car registration, secured a job interview (here's the posting), & dyed my hair (if I were cereal my packaging would say, "Poison Lake, now with slightly more black!"). All fairly mundane...As I'm typing this, H.P. is trying paw the cheese off of my mashed potatoes. That's not a metaphor, I'm eating dinner. Plans for the rest of the night include: math homework, watching lost, & possibly some sketching.
There's more specific (& some vague) commentary with the pictures.
Friday
After I woke up, I checked SFZero & felt the combined need for tasking & laziness. Everyday Life seemed like the perfect solution.
Friday
More H.Pants time. I learned it's hard to hold an upside down cat & take a picture at the same time.
Friday
I sometimes like to draw things with my DNA leavings (hair stuck to the wall in the shower). This is counting sheep #3.
Friday
After the shower, I dressed myself. This is my "closet". My parents' guest room doesn't have an actual closet, I partitioned the room with a bookshelf & shoved my dresser & a hanging rack thing back there. Though it lacks walls, it does have a lawn gnome.
Friday
Kitchenwise, I grabbed a banana...For eating, not just for the pleasure of grabbing a banana.
Friday
There was some bacon on the floor. Once again, I decided not to clean it up. Not because I'm a slob so much as because it's interesting to see other people find things like bacon on the floor.
Friday
I had an appointment with David to do nothing in particular in proximity to each other. So I approached my traditional mode of non-urban transport.
Friday
As I arrived at David's, my camera fainted (the batteries are rechargeable, so they don't die). This seriously impeded my task documenting abilities, so I decided to try again the next day.
Friday to Saturday transition
When I came home Friday night, an acceptance letter from Pacific Northwest College of Art was waiting for me. I almost pooed myself.
In related news, I'll be joining Portland Zero in the near future.
Saturday
This is Wally. He's a traveling walrus who has been to the Arctic, China and lived with David & I in San Francisco. We try to give him as much exercise as possible.
Saturday
This is a portrait of David I'm working on for my drawing class. It's hard to tell, but the background is a thesaurus page. It's the K to L transition of a Roget's 1939 edition. When it's finished, the visible page will have synonyms for Knowledge & Knave.
Wednesday
New bra. It's pretty much a safe to assume that if something is A) green B) stripey or C) green & stripey, i'll like it.
Wednesday
normally i go with bown-black or licorice black or some other weird term for black that fades to dark brown after a couple weeks. this time i chose blue-black, for variety.
