Plasterboard to Gorleston by GYØ Daryl, Adam, Tøm, GYØ Ben, GYØ Robtimus Prime

After a huge discussion, we decided we needed a comeback, so what better time to use than a teacher training day. (A huge discussion being, "I'm bored.", "Me too.", "SFZero?", "kay.")

After a Msn conversation which seemed to drag on for ages, we decided to complete Plasterboard to do plasterboard to Gorleston. This was going to involve Joe Steward (A new GYØ member) being put in a box and taken in the bus. But we had set up "I'm looking for" as a backup. (I'd like to try an international collaboration of this, some sort of competition entitled "People Bingo", PM me for details :))

In true GYØ style we met at the lighthouse café (Huzzah!). But who should we bump into, but Adam. After a bit of small talk (And soap smelling), he decided to come task with us. However there was no sign of Joe, so "I'm looking for" looked quite probable.

After somebody going missing completely, we couldn't decide on what to do, after much aimless wondering around Yarmouth, we thought. Now none of us would fit in a box easily, plus we were down one box. So what's the next best thing, WRAPPING PAPER! So back to Plasterboard to Gorleston. (Huzzah again!)

A quick raid of Wilkinson and Poundland (Really not as cool as junk stores!) provided us with scissors, tape and a whole lot of wrapping paper.

Then we got hungry. HUT? (Omnomnom)
So after filling up on a pizza buffet (Daryl, Tom, Adam)/Vegetarian hot one (Rob)/Money (Ben). Soon as though Ben had not much to eat (apart from a pound coin) we nominated him to be wrapped up, to reduce the risk of running out the wrapping paper. (And because it was funnier)

Then we got to it. Now to get on the bus, and where else to get it to, GORLESTON of course. Then once at Ben's much Rock Band 2 was had, at expense of Tom (see separate file at own risk (>.<)) and Adam singing (end of video).

(Daryl has basically skipped the entire task here, so I shall take over for a moment. Once the wrappable Ben was wrapped sufficiently, we waddled over to the bus station [Handily placed just about behind us] and boarded a wonderful Number 8 bus [The master species in the great rainforest that is Great Yarmouth's public transport system] (Except it was the 6B as the 8 doesn't go down to White Horse Roundabout) and proceeded to the back. Odd looks were had. Smiles were exchanged with old people. Waves were conducted from the window, and horns were honked as we got off the bus at our destination. Being a bunch of cheapskates, we had got off just before the next zone [about 15 metres would've cost everyone but me £1.40 more] and proceeded to walk, still with a wrapped Ben, to Ben's house. That is where Rock Bandage occurred. And now, back to Daryl...)

This video was filmed and edited by Rob, the first new GYØ member for the first GYØ task of 2009 and the start of our comeback. (Not too shabby)

WARNING, DO NOT listen to the following clip if you suffer from effects due to high pitches and bad singing. GYØ Tom or and of GYØ can not be held responsible for any temporary or perment injuries (including loss of hearing) cause by this video. (Screw you Daryl. I notice no-one caught you singing "WAAARRRR CHIIILDREEEEN, IT'S JUST A SHOT AWAY, IT'S JUST A SHOT AWAAAY" in the highest voice ever heard by man. And let's face it, when you're trying to sing like Jello Biafra you're stuffed unless you have a bag of cats handy to learn from)

I only agree with maybe one. And I only say one because of a limited knowledge base.

I love GYØ (and can't wait for the inevitable GYØ AKØ war) but expect better from you guys.

AKØ have set a very high standard, and it's going to be tough for us to top them.

But we'll try.

its a shame we cant bring Unreal Tournament into a task... itd be awesome, most of us have UT, if AKØ had it too we could bring the war into a space age FPS...

I have decided that being in Great Yarmouth will be like falling gently into a pile of soft playful puppies.

I had this problem, you have to wait a few minutes after editing before clicking finish, it's very irritating.

Vicki should have been there. It's so obvious Ben was wrapped by men, if it was a woman it would have been one piece of wrapping paper folded in three places with one piece of tape and voila. Instead we used 4 rolls and two rolls of tape wrapping and sticking.

(no subject) +1
posted by Minch on February 15th, 2009 3:25 PM

it was a horrid wrapping job.... and with brown tape...

(no subject)
posted by GYØ Daryl on February 16th, 2009 1:10 AM

Brown tape was Adam's choice, in poudland there was a pack of brown tape sitting next to some clear stuff, but I guess he chose brown cause it's easier to see.

And Rob, I would give up trying to edit, me and Tom needed to fix the youtube embed, cause the link was wrong, we had to do loads, like keep trying, then unsubmitting, then adding a bit of text below, to allow us to actually save any changes, then quickly deleting it. I'm just glad to have actually got it up.
