As I was wandering around my neigborhood, I was struck by how different it looks at night. I walk this way fairly frequently, and thus don't usually notice my surroundings. The cranes looked like monsters having a rest from battling. The dark paths and secret places became much more menacing, and the lure of lighted areas became greater.
The neon lights caught my eye as I got to the Castro. They are so pretty, trashy but pretty. I didn't colour correct any of the photographs, because I really like the orange cast to them. I had wished the images of the city came out, but I actually like the close up shots of everything. They are given another level due to the intimacy with the camera.
