The Gift Of Task by Flitworth

December 24th, 2007 8:19 PM

INSTRUCTIONS: Make a task for a specific person to complete. Give it to him/her as a gift. Your task must be generic enough such that anyone can complete it.

The Gift of Task with a Task Gift

After getting my tasking hat* from Mr. Name on Hat I was determined to go back and make use of his services again.

I attempted to select the range of my victims to cover all five groups and five different locations. After some poking I managed to get four of the desired five addresses I sought for the task. Because I have been busy at work I realized that I would have to put this off and decided to put it together whilst being an army of one.

I got a hat for each of the desired players accounting for location and group (which was used more to help me limit and structure the task). Two countries, three US cities, and four groups have been represented in the task so far (not counting Korea). I then wrapped each hat, placed it in what I hope was the corresponding envelope (I hope: I once nearly sent The Bandit photos of a coworker's going away party so who knows). I then hand-wrote the following message:

The Gift of Task
from: Flitworth

Show regional pride in the completion of a task.

and/or

You have a useful gift. In the spirit of the season give this (or something of equal use) to someone who needs it more.

Please provide documentation.

Happy New Era

Addressed, taped, and ready to go these will be at their destination within two weeks. I shall update this as those who have been tasked provide it. I hope to send the last one out when I can get contact information.

*Which has now been passed on to a player I thought to whom it would be better suited.

I'm looking very peppy here because I was up for 26.5 hours straight. Unable to submit this completion by 9am as intended I went and took a nap then came back to this.

:) You look good in a tasking hat.

I was initially surprised by the fact that your gifted task is not (yet) an official approved SF0 task--but really, there's no need for it to be. Great completion!

(yes, I'm giddy because I'm up past midnight and it's now Christmas :)

hats, mail, embroidery, puns, and regional pride. it's like you broke into a vault of my favorite things and spun them into a praxis. it's like a christmas present!

where is PGØ? And why does Mr. Name on Hat URL shows as Infection control and Epidemiology Education and Consulting Services?

Ah, PG0 is what I was hoping would be Pittsburgh as I have much fondness for the city but, sadly, I have not heard from my intended victim and I don't know that there are any other Biome players there.

I'm not sure how Mr. Name on Hat ended up like that for you...it's a video of him embroidering stuff when I click on it.

You know, it never occurred to me that this task might actually expect me to make a task through the game...It is so strange what the brain will omit in the process of interpretation. I rather like this more, though.

I GOT MY TASKING HAT IN THE POST AND I'M SO EXCITED!

Now, how will I complete the gifted task? It should be at least as epic as the method of gifting. Hmm.....
