Work is So Strange by Not Here No More

September 4th, 2011 10:51 PM

INSTRUCTIONS: Describe in some detail the strangest thing that happened to you at work in the past week. If you don't work, describe the strangest thing that happened to you during a leisure activity.

Size ZerØ Tasking:

I'm a model. This profession has saturated my entire life to the point that people randomly notice that I, "Walk like a model" or something, and ask me to do a shoot with them on the street. This happened once on the L Taraval line when Curious George Foreman, Nola Mei, Madeline Ruth and myself were discussing conspiracy theories, and BAM, this woman suddenly asks me if I want to model for her jewelry line. A really nice guy last week thought that I looked like Andrej Pejic when I was looking for suspenders in Clothes Contact. Wish I was that pretty. Even two days ago, while on the 33 line to a friend's going away party, a woman noticed me from the internet with the line, "You're with JE Model, right?"

I've done a great number of shoots by this point, all of them beginning when Brixton Key asked me to be on the cover of his novel, Charlie Six through the Creative Writing department I have since left. Brixton and Michael, the photographer had seen and done pretty much everything, Brixton having managed countless bands throughout the 20th century, and Michael having taken pictures of all of those bands and more.

This is what the shoots are usually like: the Fashionisto.

Since then, I've met many lovely photographers, makeup people, models, hair folks, stylists, and so on, and had a very interesting time, but the two strangest shoots I've done are as follows:

1. The Midieval Shoot. (Page through)
2. The Psychotic-Japanese-Dunno-Shoot (Scroll down to see it)
