Dollar Store decorations get no love from me. And usually with good reason. They are some of the strangest and most random decorations out there. So for this task, I went to a Dollar Tree in search of a decoration. There were many little statues to choose from and in the end, it came down to a horse or a strange mannequin head. The horse actually looks more like a toy than a decoration so I went with the head. I couldn't imagine this had any functional purpose. Time for it's new life!


Over a year ago, the string that turned on the light in my front closet broke off. Instead of just grabbing a chair and tying on some new string, I have resorted to using the hall light to see into the closet. This did not work well at all. And then the hall light burnt out. And I can't reach it to change it.


Here's where the decoration comes in! Add a pretty ribbon and presto, a perfectly sized and shaped light pull.


I needed a chair and a poof to reach the light socket.


It actually feels really good when I pull on it. It fits perfectly in my palm. Who would have guessed. I will definitely be leaving this new and improved light pull for the next tenant whenever I move out.
