Sign Recontextualisation by Rather Dashing, Killah Diamonds, Crazy Child
February 23rd, 2008 7:36 PMLa Costa: "The Coast"
So, Killah Diamonds had, years ago, stolen a street sign which labelled a street named "La Costa Lane" somewhere in Georgia.
What did we do? We headed out to the coast on a road trip, just to use this stolen sign to label the real coast effectively! We decided this, of course, spontaneously, at 11:30 pm on Friday, February 22nd. After gathering some supplies (Our typewriters, lots of music, snacks, a ukulele, some layers of clothing, sheets, blankets, a balloon representing the spirit of Crazy Child, and a tripod) we were off!
The trip was almost 4 hours one way, and the whole deal took us about 12 hours altogether. We got lost a few times, and during which times we talked to Crazy Child, who used her mad interweb skills to set us back on the right path. That, and the fact that she called to check in on us every half an hour or so, makes her a distinct member of the team!
So, upon arrival, we stuck the La Costa sign in the sand and did some happy jumps, and then spent the day wandering around and exploring wilmington, and taking pictures of the beach. It was nothing short of glorious.

I believe that should be "Captian" Jack Sparrow. But awesomeness all the way!
Vote for driving 8 hours and that awesome cookie.
