Five of us started the picnic at Milbrae (Lank dashing on at the last minute) and met up with TinyDancer at the Powell Street station, then disembarked at Embarcadero.

Spidere: I was worried about being chased out and fined by BART employees, but this was actually just a lovely picnic. It was an unusual setting, with good food and great company (TinyDancer's now-famous bacon-wrapped scallops are delicious, even as leftovers). I remember texting with TinyDancer (who was coming from Dublin, the opposite end), arranging to cross at Powell, and texting her updates as we got closer...16th/Mission...Civic Center...powell...wait, Powell?!?! Where's TD? Only to have her dash aboard just before the doors closed. :) Plus, Lank gave me a going away present, which was wonderful and made me feel all warm inside. I will treasure it always. :)


Piratey: What a nice treat to sit with good sf0 folks, eat pbj, and drink from juice boxes. Although BART is a little loud for proper conversation, it made for a nice ambiance to share with friends. We spread a nice tablecloth on the floor. laid out all our treats and dug in! This was also the first time i had met Annnna, so that was fun too! Though there were only a handful of people in the car with us, they seemed remarkably unsurprised by our little picnic. We were waiting for someone to ask us what we were doing so we could invite them to join us, but alas, general BART zombification seemed to have prevailed. Ah well, more for us! Also, when we reached our stop, we had about .10 seconds to get all our picnicing supplies together and get off the BART. Way to hustle, peeple!
