SFZero Giftwrap by Stu, Black MegaBee

November 27th, 2007 6:28 PM

INSTRUCTIONS: Gift wrap something that is permanently fixed in a public space.
Label it such that the specific recipient knows it's for them.

In the front of Baker Hall, there is a profile of Arthur Hamerschlag, the first president of Carnegie Mellon University. Legend has it that rubbing his nose grants good luck. We, however, believe in creating our own luck, and this is the gift we decided to give the freshmen at CMU.

I'm a sucker for CMU-related things, ad for making your own luck.

Interesting aside: in Japanese, the equivalent phrase for "good luck!" is "ganbatte!" which translates literally to "work hard!"

Making your own luck, indeed!

Oh, but you may want to change the label - it's "sf0.org", not "sf0.com"

Yeah, that was my fault. I realized it after I'd actually gotten home and uploaded the pictures....

Bandit: Public is more fun.

Charlie: It was fun.

FZ: Crap! I blame me, too. Also, I like the "ganbatte" thing. That's pretty awesome.

Yes! It is still up, and I changed the .com to .org.

It's still still up, and it looks like people have been reading the card. (The crease is not nearly as tight as it had been.)

Thanks! I should go check on it again. See if it's still there.
