Super Glued by Torsten the dissenter

October 23rd, 2007 5:18 PM

INSTRUCTIONS: Super Glue something to the ground. Consider documenting the experience of those who try to move it.

Two attempts:
#1 Zebra's are fun in all seasons and if you found a bronze one that talked (sort of), well that would be a treat wouldn't it?
Doubtful of superglue's true superness, I opted for Household Goop instead. Once dried the stuff's still as strong as an angry Bruce Banner but it takes some time so I decided to conceal my unglulate messenger from sight untill the adhesive was strong enought to resist at least a reasonably stout kitten.
Inside Pandora's Box surely noone would dare...

One women did although she was reluctant to remove our hooved emmisary.
Hours later and after dark I went out for some more exercise of my patience. While I was chatting with my neightbor who was busy overwattering her garden a man with the strength of ten somethings snarfed up the little zebra from right under my nose, he didn't even break stride, just snatched it right of the top of the garbage can, much too fast for me to capture it.

#2 Undaunted and determined to get documention of an items removal I upped the anty. Who can refuse cold hard cash? Not me anyway so I glued a dollar to the same trash can, yeah its flat and not so obvious as a talking zebra so I needed a press release for such a giveaway. I posted on Craigslist that there was a free $1 bill on the corner of Hayes and Baker and that I just didn't want it anymore because George Washington kept looking at me funny.

Once it was up on the site I sat and watched a couple people put trash in the can but not even blink at the dollar. Is anyone interested? Untill someone uses their knife to set George free I think we've got Mr. wooden teeth holding down the corner...

Seemingly startled by a talking bronze zebra, she reseals the box tape and retreats. The zebra remains. For now-

Here's my CL post for the give away, Is a dollar worth much these days? Well apparently its worth flagging for removal.

Maybe a two dollar bill wouldn't get flagged on CL?!?!

zebra hoofprints! And I can't believe how nonchalantly that woman opened Pandora's box.

Nice tasking.

Excellent!

Especially because you caught that woman opening Pandora's Box. Naughty girl.

I might copy your idea for this task...

Damn it!

The downside of my recent habit of spending all my time working and no time tasking is that everyone steals (ie independently invents) all my tasking ideas before I do them.

Just for the record, when my curiosity completion hits the praxis and it looks like a lame ripoff of Charlie Fish's completion. . . I really did think of it independently.
