Human Seed by Frostbeard, Thain Stormbringer, Jotun One

INSTRUCTIONS: Bury yourself in a public place such that only your head is showing.

TS: So this is one of the tasks that is actually easier in the frozen north of Arkham. We had talked about doing this earlier in the day, but by the time we finished our Knattleikr game we were in no shape for anything (see my upcoming praxis for Time (And Medical Attention) Heals All Wounds). Once we had spent several hours resting and playing a series of board games, we headed out to have the traditional post-Knattleikr bonfire. Hail Odin! After the fire was blazing, I decided that it was burying o'clock. I ran back to the house, grabbed a couple snow shovels and threw on some warmer clothes. When I got back to the fire, Frostbead, Jotun One and a few others gathered around and gleefully began covering me in snow.
Once I had been buried to the neck and the non-SF0 folks had a chance to laugh at my foolishness, it was time for the other two to have their turn. Frostbeard's burial when pretty smoothly, but by the time we got to Jotun's "opportunity" for burial, the fire had died down and we had mischief in our hearts. I'm still not sure who came up with the idea, but after he had been buried to his neck (and then some) we decided that he also needed to be buried in hot coals. Amazingly, Jotun agreed to this foolishness (I think some of the snow had gotten into his brain case). While Frostbeard ran back to my parents house to get an ash bucket, I used the heat-proof gloves to place a large flaming log onto Jotun's snow covered chest. Frostbeard eventually returned with the ash bucket and proceeded to pour several loads of coals from the now smoldering fire across the full expanse of Jotun's buried body. Several minutes of laughter and photo snapping followed, before Jotun bellowed and jumped out of his coffin of snow and fire in one panicked movement. Since the original plan had been just to drape his chest in a blanket of coals, I guess people were a bit negligent in reinforcing his legs with snow. As one might have expected, the coals melted through the weakest point in the snow shield and started to do the same with his pants. After a very entertaining display of rolling around in the snow, Jotun proved to be free of any serious injury.

To recap: Being buried in snow = fun. Burying your friends in hot coals = way more fun.

FB: Definitely have to agree with the above. Burying your friends in hot coals is pretty awesome. Basically, have much the same

JO: Honor to Niflheim! Our descents into our freeze cocoons went well. As Thain mentioned, the help was glad to be of service. You might say "no" to being buried in something, but when do you really say "no" to doing the burying? Also, when should you say "no" to the fiery logs and hot coals being dumped on you as well? I clearly don't have a clue as to when, but I do know when the Bungle Brigade forgets to adequately stock up on snow around your legs. I surely do know that. It's about the same time that the white hot pain appears like a lateral tetris block dropped across your quads. Thankfully, fool hardy as we all are, we kept snow around on the ground, and not just more fire.

Okay, the steady trajectory of this gang of vikings bestirs my nordic heart and I endorse it happily (I don't do the actual pagan thing as much, but I'm a well known appreciator of differences!)

Also fire.

Thanks BU. We don't do the actual pagan thing either (don't tell Odin you heard me say that). I have loved being part of SF0 for the short time I have been playing, and I look forward to the tasks yet to come.

That is such a Viking thing to do! My Danish Ancestors are applauding all y'all.

Funny, I never thought much about Massachusetts as particularly Nordic. Minnesota, yes, but Mass, not so much. Am I missing something (having not traveled much of the east or south at all). I also never much thought about the intersection between Cthulhu and Viking mythos. But Vikings in Arkham... Hmmm....

Holy Toledo...

Real Vikings. Real and true, completely bad-ass vikings.

Are you seeing this, Lincoln? Maybe they'll help us defend against the robots when the time comes.

I have been paying real close attention to Frostbeard, Thain, and Jotun One for some time now. They train for battle daily. They will be strong allies. They also seem to have no fear, nor any love for robots.

The closest thing to fear I know is not getting the chance to vanquish metallic robot foes! Cordon and Lincoln Jotun One will stand by thy side. Victory shower us all!

It is good and just to have formidable allies and a formidable foe.

One of the things I'm loving about the new era is how so many people are doing things in a way that really shoes off a personal trajectory of desire. I'm reminded of how Frostbeard in particular did Biome last era, but this time the trajectories are not necessarily group-related.

So, vote partly because I want to see more Viking Zero completions.

Robots? What have these...so-called robots done to deserve your ire? If they are weak things that present no challenge, or the reason for slaying them is trivial, then there is shame in this. Only honorable battles will see us to the side of our Gods during the Ragnarok. And Dr. Harmon, i appreciate your notice of the work of this, and the past era.

Well, we are fashioned after the Norse after all. Plus, the familiarity with New England winters all of our lives has helped.
