Well, as I know, here in México i've heard that formatting a computer was a verb, so in my words "formateé" should be the past conjugation of "format". Here are a few examples of what I've heard:
"Formatea tu ordenador"
"Prueba dando formato a C:"
"You should format your computer"
(My english is somewhat bad)
Man, I'm staying out of this one. I'm not going to tell the guy from México how to speak Spanish. :O
We are American. We can tell anyone how to do anything.
i'll let this one drop, tough guy. i admit that i misread your word. (and miswrote!)
dyslexically, i read "formatée" even though you wrote "formateé." The first has three syllables, and is a feminine adjective, or participe passé, in french. the second has four syllables and is the spanish/castilian first person pretérito perfecto of formatear, which incidentally is the same verb i suggested in the sentence given in bold. also a word which pretty much only means something about computers.
as to usage, you seem to be correct, where i erred, placing the action of the verb on yourself, and not on the computador as i did. the future tense would be formatearé mi ordenador. apparently, despite the claims of a certain group, they can't yet format themselves.
y ya dices, que pesado, eso. my intention, though it seems we're both from the american continent, wasn't to assert any sort of expertise or authority, ni ser pesado. i foresaw a bunch of online translation cut and pastes for this task, and hoped that people would avoid such meaningless shortcuts, and creatively use their own languages to good effect and/or favorite languages. (kudos on using yours). that's including english, of course.
Well, we should let this be alone, hehehe, and no, I was just proving that I was right (If I was of course...), I didn't think of you as being a authoritative person and I considered it like a big help since I was confused with that particular word.
Gracias
you do have to use correct grammar.
sin gramática ciertissima, no puedes completarlo. fue escrito así originalmente...
