INSTRUCTIONS: Install a strange and wonderful light source in a public place.

Update: I was unaware of the retroactive completion thing. I hereby declare this to be my one and only retroactive completion. Please excuse my newness to this game...i am just getting the hang of it.
I did this project last winter at some point. Probably in February. It was inspired by the l.e.d. throwies created by the graffiti research lab. The throwies are stuck to a sculpture outside of our library. They are composed of an led a batter a magnet and tape.

The purpose of the project was to get people to rethink the way they observe their surroundings at night. Why should one only notice a sculpture during the day? How has the night changed it. In addition, the project was also just to make people smile before the forced themselves to work inside the wall of the library.

In the end the most interesting result of the project was hearing the communities reaction and watching how they interacted with it. I would lurk near the sculpture and listen to passersby discussing it with their friends. My favorite comment/description was when somebody called it a post modern Christmas tree. Being that the L.E.D.s were only attached by magnets, it allowed people to rearrange them and move them. People began making words and shapes with them, organized them by color, even mover them. Over the next couple days they somehow migrated to a number of other statues and locations. However, after about a week they had all been either moved or stolen. For me, this turned out the best possible ending because it demonstrated that the community was interacting with the work, and that the removal was not done by the university!!!

Hooray for getting other people involved simply by grabbing their attention. Light is awesome. This is especially awesome.

Well done.

Another vote for a very impressive retroactive completion. What is the world coming to? I suppose if this is any indication, it has already come to awesome (but we are only now getting news of it).

you were tasking before you knew the word

I only vote for retroactive completion because a) you are a brand new player and b) it is so fuckin' awesome.

Way cool.

Throwies are great.

Throwies on big outdoor sculptures are greater.

Throwiest on big outdoor sculptures being manipulated by passers-by are greatest.

I think the retroaction makes this task cooler in a way.
I think the unspoken assumption about retrotasking is that the completion is somewhat weak in the first place.
