Discovering What Doesn't Change by artmouse

October 29th, 2009 1:01 AM

INSTRUCTIONS: Find something untouched by the ravages of time; something the same as it was in the past.

this discovery has been decades in the making ... i feel as though i've been working on this task since the day i was born. only in recent years have i become cognizant of this process: the emotion that wells up, drop by drop, inside yourself every single day for the rest of your life, beginning long before you're even aware of its presence.

it's the one thing that remains after all the fighting, all the mistrust, all the hurtful words and pain.

sometimes it appears in an instant, a moment where you feel it flooding under, over, around, and through yourself.

sometimes it's subtle, as subtle as coffee evaporating from a mug, leaving tiny concentric rings of evidence that for the most part go unnoticed.

I'm talking about løve here, people.

i've decided to stick with simple examples for this praxis, as there aren't quite singular pictures that could adequately capture my recent dealings with these unchangeable feelings. Aw heck, i'll throw in some cryptic pictures concerning other loves in my life anyway!

Heart in a mug! by Mr Sanders.jpg

sometimes you don't fully realize it's there until tangible substances are gone

in the case of my younger sister, i felt it the very moment i first held her in my arms

_

_

every time we played together, laughed together, even whenever she would steal my toys or when she cried and cried and cried over something so mundane as getting her hair combed every morning

_

_

we're still as inseparable as conjoined space alien twins ...

_

_

... out exploring the universe together.

by far the best proof for undying love

by far the best proof for undying love

my two best friends in the ENTIRE world

case study #3

... our wires get a little crossed, too, sometimes.

some days it's hard to remember...

some days it's hard to remember...

... but i've got to save a little of this løve for myself, too.
