Thumb War by Bex., Scarlett

July 15th, 2007 8:41 PM

INSTRUCTIONS: Declare a Thumb War.

(this task created as a gift for Eleanor the Most)

Long ago and far away on a dark and stormy night (or earlier today, in the Mission, on a balmy July Sunday), two grim warriers and thier trusty steeds stood opposing on a battle field of Kitchenton. Armed to the teeth (or second knuckle) and regal in thier shining armor, they began their fiercsome approach. Only one of these brave appendages would escape this epic struggle with life and honor.

The quarrel began when the rogue Don Bexalot of Leftthumbshire was witnessed to have indiscreetly dipped an impressive extremity into the dark velvety folds of Thumbnitus the Scarlett's own Cake Batter, thereby besmirching the honor of Lady Batter and gaining a challenge from the daring Thumbnitus the Scarlett. Don Bexalot agreed to the duel, arrogantly meeting the outraged opponent with a thumbing of the nose (er, thumb) at Thumbnitus, claiming to have given the rich booty to the poor.

"Charge!" cried Don Bexalot of Leftthumbshire with firm grip upon the galant battle cat, Kittenante. Thrusting forward, with lance erect, Bexalot aimed to disable the steadfast and azure Penguisus upon which Thumbnitus the Scarlett trundled forth into the fray. But alas! Bexalot's practiced strategy was no match for Scarlett's UnOpposable Claw of Death.
A cry of "Fie!" was heard to issue across the land as Don Bexalot of Leftthumshire was thrown from Kittenante. Bexalot gave a heroic struggle to maintain ground against the now enraged Penguisus and valient rider, but was pinned to the ground facing imminent doom. The desperate cries of forlorn damsels were heard in the distance. Not wishing to break hearts across the land with an untimely demise, the noble but fairly-defeated phalange flew up the White Flag of Surrender, crying unto the victor, "Uncle!"
An honorable winner, Thumbnitus the Scarlett allowed the defeated digit to escape death with dignity. A Peace Treaty was drawn up, signed by both noble parties, and sealed with an embrace and cake banquet.
This marked the begining of the Rule of Thumb(nitus the Scarlett) in Kitchenton. Peace reigned in the land and they lived happily ever after...

Unless the ground has been laid for TWII (Thumb War Two)...

To prevent TWII, I'd suggest protecting Archduke Franz Fingeredhand.

You are speaking of TWI. I think you mean don't let Adolph Fingler become Handcellor of Palmany.

I think he meant NERDS in the most complimentary of ways!! And if I am right on this assumption, I have to say that I most definately agree....one nerd to another.

With thumb attire this extravigant, no longer am I so perplexed as to why my opposing opposable digets think yours are of a wholly profligated & excessive nature upon which mine forever seem to wait .

I didn't realize that you had previously heft a white flag before a penguin...

But I won't hold it against you.

I particularly like the peace treaty; quite honorable!

Hmmm... Pam's and my war didn't officially end with a winner, and the warfare was a bit asymmetrical. Perhaps it was Viet-thumb.
