June 6th, 2007 2:52 PMLast night I printed a note and outlined the electrical wires of the bus stop on top of the words. I found a way to put one of the May 2007 bus passes to use that I found on the floor when they became outdated a few days ago.
So this morning I got there early armed with duct tape and the sign, and I stuck it to the bottom of the pole that holds the electrical lines. There weren't many people around.
I walked back up to the bus stop to go home two hours later. I thought it might still be there, but when I got there it was gone. Only one strip of duct tape was stuck on the pole.
It made me a little sad that it was gone so quickly. I don't know why anyone would want to rip it off. It's not harmful; it's a public appreciation. It's celebrating something that usually gets overlooked. So why would it get ripped down so fast?

I like public transit in general, but sometimes it can be annoying. Like the other day when the bus didn't stop for us and we had to wait 20 minutes for another one.
I don't know why it didn't rotate the picture...
20 years ago, i waited at that same stop every day for 3 and a half years. I can't say i saw anything beautiful in it, although it was certainly a spot where plans were hatched, hilarity ensued and boredom passed. thank you for re-framing my memories!
Ha! I knew there had to be people on here who graduated from Lowell....
Boredom definitely gets passed there.
A couple of friends and I just did this task where we climbed the roof, if you're still reminiscent:here
Places are wonderful. I feel the same way about the 71 bus stop around the corner of my house. You take amazing pictures.
I love the directness of your sentiment. there was such sincerity in that piece of paper.
I love public transit love and the look of your note.
