Player Portrait by Rin Brooker

September 6th, 2009 4:56 PM

INSTRUCTIONS: Paint a fellow player - we'd really prefer that you use their player photo as your model, though. Any medium/style, but let us know what you end up doing with it.

When I Started this task a few days ago I wanted to use a variety of styles of drawing and painting. So instead of just one portrait I made four. I learned I am most deadly with the pen, but not so much with the paintbrush.

She was a lot of fun do draw. I think this is the one that took me the most time and tries to get her to where I wanted to put her on canvas. This piece used up my entire good blue pen on it's own.

It's just such an appropriate way to draw him for his attitude. He is a fun easy going guy. The drawing is mostly from memory. He likes taking off his shirt.

It was a good try. Done on canvas.

Indeed it is.

I believe that's new since I last saw this? Either that or I'm oblivious. Whichever it is I'm totally upgrading to 5pts for that.

Agreed. Five points because I'm so full of myself.

It actually turned out awesome. I like the Sardonicus one too.

Of the lot, most admire the negative space work in the pen drawing. Nifty stuff!

I adore the watercolor Sardonicus! I think you very much captured Sard's essence. He's a little abstract and somewhat outside the mold of what you'd expect from him, you nailed it.
Your other portraits are great too, exceedingly creative and very much fun.

D'awww.

Oh hell yes. Definitely framing it. But I would have to send you something back in return.
