Fortune Not Cookie by cody

November 6th, 2010 4:27 PM / Location: 30.008017,-95.52165

INSTRUCTIONS: Install fortunes of your devising in permanent or non-permanent media in openable structures, such that passersby will come across them.

The proof is in the pictures.

I built the boxes at a cafe table at a bookstore near my house while helping a friend with her college essays. The servers seemed a little concerned at the ridiculous amount of construction paper spread across the table, but they didn't say anything.

It turned out to be kind of difficult to find places to put them when I got to the park. There were so many people and I felt that if I just plunked one down next to someone they might be a little concerned.

There are very few pictures of the box distribution. The lake is next to a playground full of little kids and whipping out a camera would have invariably involved (and once did, so it's not posted) an accidental picture of one of the kids. That would be awkward.

I don't know whether or not anyone will pick them up. I hope they do. I hope it makes them smile.

These are definitely not permanent, but that's what I like about them. I just hope it doesn't rain.
