The Labeling Compulsion by GYØ Kieran!, Tøm, Adam, GYØ Daryl
June 24th, 2007 10:37 AM
Wow, we meant mad. It rained all day, alll daayyyy!
Equipment:
1 x Kieran, Adam, Daryl and Tom
400 x Post-It Notes
1 x Dymo Label Tape
1 x Dymo Label Maker
4 x Pots of Tea
2 x Pizza Hut Meals
We started the day off at Market Gates Bus Station where we assembled. We moved on to Partners, a stationary store, where we spent £6.99 on the label maker and £2.99 for the label tape, which it turns we didn't use. We went around town sticking up our post-its getting very strange looks from local shopkeepers, residents and police. Of course it was raining so some of them fell off but most of them were stuck on even more.
Next we moved on to the mall, Market Gates, where it is enclosed so even more weird looks. We sat in the Lighthouse Café and Adam and Tom had some tea but Kieran and Daryl just drunk the free milk pots, we left our mark with some post-its and then stuck some of the Dymo labels onto the escolaters and they were still going round the handrails when it shut at 4pm.
When we got to the bottom we walked down Theatre Plain where we encountered "Anti-Euro Man". He was the landlord of the pub with the "Keep the Pound" sign outside where we stuck the "€5 a Pint" label and he came out and had a go at us so we took it down. *coughNazicough*
We made our way to the seafront where we continued to sticker everything and had a lovely cup of tea in Yesterdays World where the nice waitress poured us so lovely tea. At this point Daryl had to go home :(. We made up for it by going down Britannia Pier where Kieran proceeded to jump off and attract attention to us. After we left Kieran me and Tom went to Pizza Hut where we had fun with the Dymo sticker maker and put some sf0, Mark Watmuff and name stickers around the place. We also left a £1 tip with the word "Tip" stickered on it which caused some confusion.
NB: You should appreciate that this task took us the best part of a day but I must say it was jolly good fun. Id say about 40% of the sticky notes were still up when we walked into town which wasn't bad. Labelling is certainly addictive.
Sorry for all the proof photos, but we did alot.
Photos before "Rain" were by Adam and after were by Daryl
Waiting for Tom to caption the copious amounts of photos
