Object Annotation by auntie matter

September 17th, 2008 7:44 AM / Location: 41.838458,-87.67634

INSTRUCTIONS: Pick a local public object that you enjoy and leave a note on it describing your feelings in great detail.

For my Object Annotation, i chose a mile long object with which i have a very intense love hate relationship, The South Damen Street Bridge. I have to bike over almost every day -- a very dangerous and also awe inspiring act which causes many truck drivers and other motorists to honk and scream at me. I will begin my photo documentation with pictures of the bridge itself taken some days before the praxis, so that you can get a sense of it.
On the day of the praxis i wrote a very large note and placed it on a guardrail more or less at the highest point of the bridge just next to the bridge's plaque.
"Love comes with Risk"

Here is the note that same night from across the bridge:

And the next day:

Some days later i saw the note soggy, post snowstorm, flopping aroung on the sidewalk near where i had hung the sign. It probably stayed up for about 3 days.

A really nice completion, the note is brilliant and the fact it stayed is even better.

A large note, for a large love.

I gave you a vote specifically because you chose such a fine object - one that I know means a great deal to your life (as I've heard about it many, many times before...).

Such a huge note! Almost as big as your emotional response to the bridge.
