SFZero Giftwrap by Rainbow Bright
July 30th, 2007 3:37 PMAnyway, I had to work pretty hard to prove that I was not crazy and after some pleading, I convinced those pesky siblings to come out in the 90 degree weather and make a memory with me......
The Journey for Gift Wrap

Yes, folks...this is the main street in my little town...for all of your shopping needs...we have two banks, a grocery store, a Dollar General, and a Rite Aid...oh, and two fine junk stores.
Siblings On A Mission

They were still reluctant at this point, but for some reason they trusted me and went along with my plan.
For Real?

As we got closer to the playground, I noticed this sign. Am I the only one who thinks this is hilarious? My mother did not find much humor in it, but I can find a few things that make me laugh. It was definately photo worthy in my book.
Boring, Paint Chipped See-Saw

I chose this as my object to gift wrap becasue of the many memories that I have at this park and on this piece of equipment in particular. Mainly the bloody lip that I received on many occasions when my childhood friend Tommy would decide to lift his legs on his descent to the ground. This sent quite a jolt to the other rider (ME) which inevitably caused said rider to jerk forward and bounce their face on the handle. Ugh...so much blood.
How many siblings does it take?

It is quite possible that my brother Zach (on the right) is comtemplating using his gift wrap as a weapon.
This Wasn't As Easy As I Thought

Wrapping a see-saw is a bit trickier than your average holiday gift.
The Boys Got Distracted.

Again...we find my brother Zach contemplating the best way to hurt Tyler with a cardboard tube.
Getting Hotter...

SF weather is quite different than 90 degrees and HUMID! I was sweating my balls off! Hypothetically speaking, of course.
Jessie is Surely Going To Be Mad...

when she sees the shot of her ass that I posted on the internet. I look like an idiot myself in this photo, so she can't complain too much. You know it's hot when you tuck your skirt into your waistband.
Here Comes Grandma

I had told my Grandma earlier in the day that we were going to tackle this task, so it was a nice suprise to see her and my cousin Henry stopping by to check on our progress. My grandma wants to create her own character....isn't she rad?
Taking a Break for a Photo Opp

I'm very grateful for the opportunity to make a memory with my bro's and sister. We don't see each other very often so it's nice to do something together that we will all remember.
Oh Tyler!

If you are wrapping a see-saw, you might as well wrap up your twelve year old brother too!

this is great!
also, i really love that "children's lungs" sign...i've never seen a depiction of lungs with giant biceps and no other body parts before! and on a public sign! amazing! also those lungs are so pink and grotesque, just really, really great all around. i could go on but i won't. i'll just think about them more later.
I like how you used different colors together. It's great that you got your sibs involved, too.
It would have been absurd not to use different colors.....I'm Rainbow Bright!!!! ;-)
You deserve *extra* points for wrapping your little brother. A beautiful project, through and through.
Falling down the praxis so fast, but not forgotten...
Falling down the praxis to a bunch of weak submissions...grrrr.
Rainbow Bright says....grrrr.
My internet breaks for a week, and I miss lovely submissions like this.
you sooooo win points if you can get your grandma to join the game... I tried with my grandfather. He hasn't signed up.
yet.
That's adorable.
