Journey To The End Of The Year - Berlin - 2011 by fin

February 5th, 2012 9:20 AM

INSTRUCTIONS: INSTRUCTIONS: The city spreads out before you. Rushing from point to point, lit by the slow strobe of incandescent buses and dark streets. Stumbling into situations for a stranger's signature. Fleeing unknown pursuers, breathing hard, admiring the landscape and the multitude of worlds hidden in it.

For one night, drop your relations, your work and leisure activities, and all your usual motives for movement and action, and let yourself be drawn by the attractions of the chase and the encounters you find there.

If you participated to the Journey in any form, document your experience here.

So, we ran another Journey in Berlin.

We had lots of volunteers in a huge, international team.

We brought the soviet space training camp back. There was a party at c-base, a moving safezone and someone was kidnapped.

The moving safezone:

Not only did I (co-)organize the game, I also conceptualized and manned a diplomacy-themed checkpoint with six other people, divided into two factions.

We used runners as messengers between the factions (diplomatic envoys of the runner and chaser governments, respectively), trading moves in a chess-by-wire (er, by-messenger) game and random insults.

Thanks to everyone who made this possible!

It's a pity I missed this this time.

Pity I couldn't be there (live in Berlin, but was traveling), sounds like you had a lot of fun and excitement.
