Anybody Want a Peanut? by Tøm
February 25th, 2008 1:25 PMLet me tell you a story.

Prospective buyers were coming to my house, which means sitting perfectly still in the front room. I decide instead to go out, I consult mother, she agrees. So does he.

So I leave to complete this task. I take a walk up and down the seafront to see what I could C.

Along my walk I encounter many things to rhyme in my pictures, although quite a few take a bit of poetic license, I rhymed them all to E-ish. A few times I decided to rhyme synonyms- Fleeing from fleas anyone?

There were seafront improvements, which will improve the area greatly when finished. But at the moment, cause anarchy. Including making me a divertee.

I also encountered various Piratey things, including this crows nest, which was empty.

Whilst checking out the sea, I discovered energy.

I used my handy environment cunningly to get better photos of some things.

Here at GYØ we take mispronunciations seriously. Especially when it's hard to photograph Skis at a beach town in England.

Anyway, I'll let the rest of the photo's speak for themselves. But before I do, here's a badly chosen pun.

Urm minor problem.
These dont really rhyme.
Piratey, empty.
Wha?
That's why I'm using serious poetic license.
They all have E sounds.
The problem isn't rhyme so much. It is scancion. Because there is no driving verse or meter or rhythm to the words, but they are more just a list, you can't get much of a sense of rhyme.
"The girl, with the braids, dressed all piratey,
danced away into the sea, left my heart empty,
I created a boat that was crafted so cunningly
that there was nowhere for her to hide from me"
Yeah, it doesn't scan great (I only spent about 20 seconds per line composing) but you can see that, set to a rhythm, the ending "eee" sound is enough to build pretty decent rhyme.
Can I vote again?
Also, if all completions of this task ended up being pictures of things with rhyming names, our milkshake will have been drunken, indeed.
There's something about your photos, Tom, that I really, and truly love.
And Jack is (not) gay... still makes me laugh.
