There's going to be some competition here, I can tell...
Oh ew.
I deserve to be shot by the music police.
There's going to be some competition here, I can tell...
I think this has something to do with the fact that two thirds of the contestants live within three feet of each other!
Good point, but perhaps an opportunity for duets?
I would like to request that you, Vicki, duet with Ben. Please please please.
Thank you.
mines so terrible.
my song won't buffer either.
trust me.
Dammit, I never got round to handing mine in! :(

A really strange adaptation of Moreton Bay, an Australian traditional. Note that I completed a small section of it first then realized it had to be over 45 seconds, which half explains the strange... change. The other half just arises from bad musical ability.
Holy cow, PFKAHL, this is hypnotic. Not Pøp Idle material, mind you, but the sort of infuriatingly good stuff you are famous for. Argh.
OK, that's ridiculously cool!!! That's you singing harmony with yourself right?
This week's theme is The 80s!
Get your tracks (full songs, backing music optional but preferred) to me by this time on Friday! And actually Friday this time, not Saturday!
EDIT: Also, I didn't think this would be necessary but... please don't vote for this praxis if you're still in the running to be collab'd...
Heh, lol, I have plans...
(hopefully my semi-lost voice will return by Friday...)
I have scary plans involving a certain gothic/punk band and a primarily piano based song... but only because the NoMeansNo song I wanted to do was released in 1990...
Funfun!
Nine contestants, not many of whom can sing. I'm beginning to think I should have entered this after all...
As it is, I'm watching with interest.
Who says a copy can't be as good as (or in this case a lot better than) the original?
I think it's a bit harsh to say we "can't sing", Sombrero. I mean, I would understand if you had entered, and yourself been the best singer out of all of us, but even then, you'd sound all bigheaded.
Audio proof or it doesn't apply, Jowan.
Audio proooof!
1. I can't enter. The deadline's gone.
2. I freely admit that by my definition of singing, I cannot sing either. I wasn't saying I was better than anyone who entered. All I meant was that I expected that if I entered I would stick out as being terrible, but it turns out I probably would have been on the same level as some of the weaker singers. Sorry if I offended anyone with this comment.
3. Maybe I will do a comment song at some point, just for a laugh, if I can find time to record when nobody else in the house can hear me.
lol
80's songs really?
was born in the 90's, I am a 90's kid, does that make any difference?
i LOVE the GY0 Katie entry! i like it better than the original.
does anyone know where Joss Stone got the melody for the chorus from? Its from a much older song,
HORAY!!!
I've just done the second one, and i ache.
Im not sure about the Joss Stone thing :/
I want to hear Tom singing the Clash songs! He would be great on London's burning or should I stay or should I go! When is punk week gonna be?
babe. i love this idea more than words can express. please please please have a punk week. i would love some god save the queen.
I never thought that there could be no punk week. There's gonna be a punk week Flea, isn't it?
Do not worry! I will have conveniently already thought of all the themes that will be deemed popular by this comment thread!
Right, I'll definitely be out of this by/on punk week.
That said, I've been meaning to learn all the words to I Hate Jimmy Page for a while now, and that's tenuously punk...This should be interesting.
Should there truly be a punk week, I know what I am singing for it.
I'm crying I am so happy. WITH A K, they're singing our song!!!!
and Ben. Awwww.
We votes for Katie this week... and we wants more!!!!
Question!
Does anything special happen if multiple contestants pick the same song?
Not particularly, but you do get to marvel about how like minded you are.
I would request that you don't make a conscious attempt to pick the same song as someone else though...
It's not that, it's just that I'm worried the song I'm picking is going to be popular submissions-wise in a way unrepresentative of its general popularity.
somehow i now have points to give. i give 5 in anticipation of punk week.
Just under twenty three point five hours left to get your week one tracks in folks!
Week One deadline extended by a week in accordance with "didn't get enough entries to make moving on worthwhile" protocols...
I am sorry, I've been being an idiot, driving and stuff.
It seems that the current format, quite frankly, isn't working.
My sincerest apologies to the three people who actually sent in files for the second stage of the competition.
I'm collaborating everyone who has taken part so far. Anyone else who wants to take part is free to drop me an audition, and I'll get them up ASAP.
EDIT: Done, but Askew's already working on this task, so I cannot add her as of this moment.
Sorry about not getting one in, Moving house and going to London for JoCo kinda got in the way.
Wow Flea can sing!
When the SF0 Musical finally gets up again (I have an almost three month summer this year), I may have to rope you in...
What a cool idea! I'm totally doing this!
REMEMBER KIDS!
MORE SINGING WILL BRING IN MORE VOTES!
presumably
Don't stop the music!
Heh, my attempted American accent is pretty comic...
Vicki, great rendition of Hallelujah. Wonderful choice of song, and well delivered.
The winner for me, though, is Tom. He sounds so bored. It's hilarious.
I voted because Fish the Britt singing America Pie in a flawless American accent pretty much made my day! Keep rockin' fish-boy. :)
Oh and you just fished for talent and literally caught a fish. Well done!
Fish whips Don McLean's butt, Flea is amazing, and boy, can Ben Forbes sing!
PUNK WEEK!
It didn't happen. But here's some UK-based Anarchy!
BOOM
Note: Much worse than last time. =(
Punk week you say?
I'll record something terrible soonest.
YAY! PUNK! I don't know how this voting system works, but I vote for Fleas Anarchy in the UK and: TOM! I already know that I will love the punk that you're going to record so I vote for you as well!
I'll be able to do something with backing music too... Rock Band + Vocal track off + Mic volume up!
The Dead Kennedys pack gets released this week...
ahk! Need to give this more vote.... MORE VOTES. Is possible this is my favorite task ever.
Charlie. If I didn't already have a huge SFØ crush on you I would have one now. Such a nice voice. Sing to me some more, please.
Vicki. Uhm. Uhm. Utterly speechless. You have the voice of an angle AND You are singing my favorite song. So Good. Only problem is, my speakers go scratchy whenever you sing all loud and soulful... how comes? I can has non scratchy version of angelic voice please?
this DOES deserve votes. it's charming, and quite a clever take on the task.
Aww, much huggles Minchy. When I sleep on your sofa, you'll be fed up of my constant singing!
I can try and record a non-scratchy version...
x
I will never be fed up by your singing..... but it's a plan, couch for singing. done and done.
non-scratchy version would make the best christmas present ever!
My big pile of votes for Vicki's rendition of hallelujah, though Garnett's mash up probably would have gotten some anyway... Actually, it's so inspired me that I might just send something in if I can figure out how to record my voice onto some sort of machine... Even though I'm not elegable for collab status.
Yay all.

Have some awful, unknown recording, singing.
wow. that is awful. but i love you for giving me what i asked for :)
If you're looking for something original with drums, have we got a disappointment in store for you!
Here's Still Alive! With most of the drums stripped out! Enjoy if possible!
