Wear Your Art As Your Sleeve by Augustus deCorbeau
January 12th, 2008 6:51 PM
In the spirit of the lawless Interregnum, I have chosen to subvert the original purpose of this task -- and proclaim allegiance to a group that is NOT the U of A*!
Muahahaha!
...
Ahem ::clears throat::

After some research on silk-screening and fabric paints/markers at the local art store, I decided that the best way to capture the detail of Biome's logo was to use iron-on transfer paper.

The most difficult part was scaling up the original .gif to an acceptable resolution.
The city skyline is still in raster form -- I mostly just cleaned it up so that it would scale up cleanly.
The crisp text is thanks to Curiou Sir who helped me find the original font used in the biome logo. Saved me countless hours of Bezier tracing!
One problem I ran into as I was about to print onto the transfer paper -- I realized that the dark green biome logo wouldn't show up against the dark green fabric. doh.
A quick redesign resulted in the black and white version you see here. Which I like better, anyway.

This is my trusty tramping vest, which has served me well over the years on many excursions out into the wild.

Reading in style!
*Any connection to my group affiliation in previous ages is entirely coincidental!
