Object Annotation by Ian Kizu-Blair, Jackie H

January 14th, 2008 8:18 PM / Location: 37.770579,-122.4689

INSTRUCTIONS: Pick a local public object that you enjoy and leave a note on it describing your feelings in great detail.

For our first task of the Insatiability Era, Ian and I decided to annotate the ventilation system at the De Young museum. We spent an amazing evening making shapes out of our shadows through a grate and ventilation shaft. It's sort of hard to explain--we made a graphic to clarify what we mean. Anyway, we love this object and think it definitely deserved our note.

We included the moon in our graphic and note, but on second thought it may have just been the streetlights casting our shadows, in which case we invite anyone to visit this grate and make their own shapes. The De Young is under construction in the satellite photo on the map, but we put the location marker as close to the grate as possible.

That's got to be the first time I've heard anyone speak so positively of a grate.
