Or Japan ;-> Ha-i-ku. But then pedants should be shot, and it was a fine haiku. And of course the usual reaction at this point is to point out that non-standard haiku are actually pretty standard...

You're right though, New Zealand pronunciation screws up syllable count - just ask the Japanese students I had to teach english haiku to ;->

That's a great picture. At thumbnail size I thought it was the writhing tentacle of a creature of which man was not supposed to know. In Macro it's a very nice shot of a pomegranate. Both good.

The haiku was nice too.
