I assume that I am missing something and this is secretly a very good completion even though it is just one picture? Does Timbuktu translate as nowhere or something? Not voting without a good solid answer!

I think Timbuktu is a standard "true middle of nowhere" - the kind of place cartoon characters mail their enemies to.

The secret of this completion is that (though you wouldn't know it just from this) he's actually there! I assume he's contending with spotty/expensive internet access, because Ben can spin a yarn with the best of them.

If he went to the middle of Timbuktu, that would be a middle of somewhere.

but it would also be the middle of the middle of nowhere.
which would be up to the standard exactness of this task's description.

strangely enough, while geotaging this, I noticed that when you put "Timbuktu" into Google Maps, the exact position in town is not more than 20 meters from where I took the picture.

I'll give full points, but only if the going to Timbuktu was purely for the purposes of this task.

ps. still super jealous.

but isn't it superwonderful when what you're doing in the world meshes perfectly with one-of-those-tasks that you've been dreaming about?

Yes. But I also vote for exactness.

ahem.

i do have to say that I was thinking about skipping Timbuktu, due to the fact that I'd already been to Agadez. however, my decision to go was highly influenced by tasking possibility.

PS. I'm still there.

oh, and here's proof positive that I'm here - a Timbuktu (Tomboktou) passport stamp:

Damn it. Now I'm even more jealous.

I need to get tasking myself, no votes to give at the moment.
