Survive Takoma Park - Silver Spring by A-Ron Kozlov

June 21st, 2010 8:25 AM

INSTRUCTIONS: Folks who participated in Survive Takoma Park - Silver Spring on June 12th, 2010 can write up any and all stories here!

Here are quotes from those who participated:

"I loved it sooo much. it was actually one of the best, fun, and most thrilling things i have ever done."

"Thanks for hooking it up man. Had a ridiculously awesome time. "

"Thanks for setting it up man! That was awesome! "

"This was so much fun. Totally do another one!"

"I actually love the spaces between the checkpoints, Sooooo many options of escape. But since the SSTP has A LOT of turns and hills I feel the course was much much longer than Survive Dc. But much respect to you guys for putting this together. Cant wait for next time. ^^"

"This was a seriously legit race, man. Coolest thing I did this week and I love you guys for organizing it all. Even though we had to leave before 1 Am, it was worth it."

"Me and my cousin were hauling ass and hot on the trail to being within the first people to Checkpoint 1 before 9:00, but we were intercepted by a chase...r prowling at the bottom of a wooded hill. We thought two runners coming down the hill behind him would be a distraction, BUT THEY WERE ACTUALLY CHASERS TOO, FUCK. Realizing this too late when we broke for it, my partner got away by a hair and I was tragically infected. If you guys do this again, we're definitely making a return, and not trusting a single damn person we see while we run; the eyes will lie."

"P.S: Did anyone actually find the fabled banana man?"

"I had just left the third checkpoint, when this crazybastard who was just sitting on the sidewalk gets up and starts chasing me! I run back towards the safe zone, and I hear one of his friends say "he's going to the third checkpoint." So I take a back way through the hospital, run down sligo and through some brambles, in someone's back yard escaping perfectly."

"HOLY CRAP IN A BAG THAT WAS INTENSE. I was running on 2 hours of sleep and one hotdog. I was about a block away from the 5th one sneaking in the backway when i had to be picked up. God Damn i was chased so much. I had to climb and vault over one of the taller chain-link fences and a tall picket fence to get away from s...ome crazy motherfucker. I EVEN CROSSED THAT SLIGO CREEK HOPPING FROM ROCK TO ROCK. This must happen again."

I'm leaving a comment 1) because this is good, and those quotes sum up a night of Journey pretty well, and 2) so that people can click through to this praxis from my comment because it was hard to find this for some reason.
